The Illawarra ITeC is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) delivering training and business advisory support services throughout the Illawarra, Southern Highlands and Southern NSW Region. 

We are not like many other RTOs. What’s the role?

We are seeking a warm, friendly and authentic Trainee Receptionist for this 12 month contract position, to learn how to run our front desk. As our Chief of First Impressions, you will be the very first point of contact for our students and clients, whether via email, in person or on the phone. You’ll be the heartbeat of the building and a super important member of our small but awesome team, greeting people who come into the building, answering calls and emails, providing administrative support to staff and students, setting up appointments, filing, and helping to create an environment where people love spending their time!

Who are you?

We always say that you can teach skills, but a positive attitude and a strong work ethic is inbuilt and that’s exactly what we look for first.  Most importantly, smiling comes naturally to you, genuinely listening to and helping people is part of your DNA, and you are able to think on your feet. You are an energetic and genuine person who is keen to learn and grow their reception and administrative skills. You will need good written and verbal communication skills, great attention to detail and be open to pitching in where you are most needed.

Knowledge, Experience and Licensing:

  1. Experience in general office administration or the ability to quickly acquire knowledge of office practices and procedures
  2. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  3. Minimum Year 10 completed
  4. Driver’s License preferred but not essential
  5. NSW Working with Children Check or ability to complete
  6. Ability to complete a typing test with a minimum of 35 wpm and a Language, Literacy and Numeracy test

What’s the role?

We are seeking a superstar RTO Training Coordinator to coordinate the delivery of our vocational programs and ensure that student data is collected, stored and maintained in accordance with regulatory obligations. As the key support person to our RTO Compliance and Business Managers, this extremely important role oversees scheduling of VET programs, assigning relevant qualified trainers to courses, coordinates and prepares delivery schedules and resources, and monitors and reports against Smart & Skilled and EVET funding.

  • Previous experience working in a similar role in the Vocational Education and Training industry is essential
  • Current TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is desirable
    Knowledge of Smart and Skilled and Traineeships
  • Experience in VETTRAK and Microsoft Office suite
  • Knowledge of training packages, Standards for RTOs 2015, ASQA and Training Services NSW
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders
  • High level of attention to detail and an understanding of the importance of compliance with policy and legislation
  • NSW Working with Children Check or ability to complete
