Whether it is for theatre, festivals, corporate or even Opera our Live Production course will give you the skills and experience for the right lighting, sound, staging and visuals to make an impact on the audience.

Your trainer Matt is industry based and travels all over Australia providing Live Production services to big names in the industry.  Combining his knowledge and experience with the awesome facilities onsite at ITeC you will get hands on experience to ROCK ON!!!!!

Participants will learn in ITeC’s Theatre, state-of-the-art Recording Studio and Digital Media Suites . 

What you will learn?

Setup

Throughout the course you will learn skills in the bump in and bump out of productions, the set up and operation of all audio equipment, the set up and operation of lighting equipment, how to set up staging elements and set pieces and the set up and operation of audio-visual equipment and projection.

Roles

You will also learn how the industry is constructed, what roles and responsibilities are relevant to the industry and how the hierarchy of the production team is constructed. You will learn about new technologies as you use a variety of industry professional equipment as well as learn the fundamental skills in workplace health and safety, unions and employment contracts.

Projects

As a highlight of the course, you will plan and implement 2 live production events where you will put the skills you have learnt in audio, lighting, staging and AV into practice. This is a great opportunity to showcase all the skills you have learnt and work together as a team to present your productions to the wider community.

Career Opportunities

The job roles include bump in – bump out crew, live audio crew, lighting crew, and audio-visual technician. Individuals usually work under direction, using some discretion and judgement, and may provide technical advice and support to a team.

MEET THE TRAINER – LIVE PRODUCTION AND TECHNICAL SERVICES
Matt Gardiner, a seasoned audio engineer and audio system technician, honed his craft between 2005 and 2010 as a key member of the Enmore Theatre’s audio team. His technical prowess and passion for delivering unparalleled sound experiences quickly propelled him into the heart of the music industry.

Over the span of a decade, from 2005 to 2015, Matt became a fixture at some of the most iconic music festivals, leaving an indelible mark on events such as Big Day Out, Sound Wave, Laneway, and Day on the Green. His role as the audio engineer and audio system technician on the main stage ensured that audiences were immersed in sonic excellence, setting the stage for unforgettable performances.

Among the many milestones in his career, Matt has had the privilege of working alongside legendary performers, including James Reyne, Silverchair, Powderfinger, Mondo Rock, Boom Crash Opera, Guy Sebastian, and Shannon Noll. His expertise has also graced high-profile shows such as The Voice, John Farnham’s Night In, Invictus Games, Asian Games in Doha, and numerous others.
